The Canadian Zim Society’s Logo contains four images: the Canadian maple leaf, the Zimbabwean star & bird, the golden yellow OM, and the outer circle formed by the society’s name and a solid semi-circle line.
The merging symbols of the Canadian maple leaf and the Zimbabwean star & bird, which are iconic symbols from the respective countries, represent the members of the society who have emigrated from their homeland, Zimbabwe, and have adapted to life and continue to weave a rich tapestry of diversity in their new land and are proud to call Canada home.
For the next generation, the Canadian maple leaf represents their homeland and the Zimbabwean star and bird represent their parent(s) or grandparents’ unique African (Zimbabwean) heritage.
The discreet golden yellow OM under the merging symbols represents the ethnic background of the members who initiated the society. The golden yellow colour represents creativity, optimism, and joy and bears the promise of a positive future.
The outer circle, which is formed by a solid semi-circle line and the society’s name, represents the society being inclusive, whole and united. The red colour signifies a pioneering spirit and leadership qualities and promotes ambition and determination, whereas the black colour symbolizes grounding, protection, and elegance within the members.
